Hygienic Positive Drive Belting
Brendma Australia proudly presents the newest innovation of Hygienic Positive Drive Conveyor Belting in Australia.... Volta Superdrive and Volta Dual Drive.
This range of belting has taken the world by storm in providing a sprocket driven, hinge free, flat homogenous belt capable of providing the best hygienic solution for your application. Volta’s positive drive products come with NSF/FDA/USDA/3A Dairy certifications and are guaranteed to solve major hygienic issues that over the years modular belting has yet to correct. Some benefits of Volta Superdrive and Dual Drive include decreased product contamination, minimal water usage, low bacterial count and reduced downtime.
History
After years of market research and product development, Volta started to discover the major hygienic and cost issues implemented by the use of modular belting in food production. As a result, Volta innovated a hinge free sprocket driven flat belt capable of overcoming the hygienic issues raised by modular belting, yet keeping the one main advantage; positive drive. The result was the Volta Superdrive.
The Superdrive was officially launched worldwide in 2001 and has been a major success. Now engineers had a choice in choosing what type of positive drive belt system they wanted. Needing only minimal engineering adjustment to an existing conveyor, you could create a sprocket driven Superdrive belt system and avoid the hygiene and cleaning hassles of modular belting.
A few years later, Volta released its next stage of hygienic positive drive belting; Volta Dual Drive. The Dual Drive was based on the Superdrive concept, but with one very distinct difference. Dual Drive belting can be used as a direct substitute for most modular belting designs, meaning that no modification would be needed to the conveyor for the Dual Drive to work.
Due to these innovations by Volta, a new benchmark has been set in the market for hygienic positive drive belting.
Reasons for Innovation
In today’s industry, the need to control operational costs and hygienic levels in food production are at a priority. Many engineers and production workers look at ways to minimise costs including water usage, mechanical breakdown and downtime for cleaning. Volta Superdrive and Dual Drive support the food processing industry with a solution to solve these issues, tackling the problems that modular belting produce head on.
Benefits of Product
- Homogenous structure eliminates no ply construction and no modular components or joints that require extensive cleaning and lengthy soaking.
- Massive reduction in water and chemical usage for cleaning, saving you time and money
- Sanitation time drastically reduced
- Eliminates the need of high pressure spraying
- Increased production due to minimal downtime
- Greatly reduced noise levels when compared to modular belting
- NSF/FDA/USDA/3A Dairy certified
- No belt pretension
- Eliminates belt slippage due to sprocket driven positive drive design
- No belt elongation
- Can run on existing modular conveyors and designs
- Approx 50% lighter than modular belting : easy for logistical purposes and minimal wear on conveyors
- Can be used on incline/decline, trough and gooseneck conveyors
- Less surface area than modular belting
- Ability to use scrapers
- Eliminates modular plastic links breaking off and contaminating food
- Reduced conveyor maintenance costs
- Low bacteria counts
- Reduced waste caused by product sticking to the belt or being wedged in modular components (excellent product release)
Compared to other competitors......
1) Our service
Brendma strongly believe in servicing the market to our full potential. We are able to supply any Volta Superdrive and Dual Drive belt within a small time frame. All our fabrication is done in-house and nothing is ever outsourced to overseas, unlike some of our competitors. Volta Belting was the first ever company to create and pioneer Thermoplastic Polymer materials and with 35 years experience, is still the number 1 hygienic belt in the world. Brendma was the first company to introduce this type of material into Australia, and for the last 25 years have penetrated the market with arguably the world’s best product. With our wealth of experience and high quality product, backed up with a 24 hour around the clock service, who else can you trust? We never settle for 2nd best, so why should you?
2) Our material
• FULLY EXTRUDED IN ONE PROCESS: Volta Superdrive and Dual Drive stock comes in 60 metre rolls and up to 1,500mm wide. Some other competitors insist on supplying the market with equivalent materials that are only 3 metres long x 1 metre wide. As a result, any long length belts require a series of joins to create the desired length. In our 25 years of experience, we know that too many joins in thermoplastic material seriously weakens the tensile strength of the belt, as well as runs the risk of greater join failure. This is why we simply do not believe in providing more than 1 join per belt. Could you imagine installing a belt 60 metres long with 20 joins welded into it to create the desired length? In the name of quality, this is just unacceptable. That’s why Volta ensures creating long lengths of belting to cater for this issue.
• ALL STOCK LOCATED IN AUSTRALIA: All Superdrive and Dual Drive stock is located in our Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane branches and can be ordered and fitted in a same day service (1 day delivery to rest of Australia), unlike other rival materials which are sourced from overseas and can take weeks, even months to deliver.
• INTEGRATED TEETH FORMED DURING PRODUCTION: All teeth on the Superdrive and Dual Drive are formed during the primary process of production, ensuring that the teeth are an integral part of the belt thus creating long wearing/durability properties. Other rivals insist on sticking on cogs, sticking special tracks or machining the belt down to styled teeth on the drive side as a secondary process. As a result, the quality of the drive side of the belt produced by competitors’ products CAN NOT be matched to the Volta Superdrive and Dual Drive range.
3) Our Accessories
• HIGH FREQUENCY CLEATS: All cleats are fitted on our Superdrive and Dual Drive belts using a high frequency machine, ensuring a nice, clean, strong weld. We pride ourselves in having 2 of these machines located in Australia and by conducting all our own fabrication In-house. To back up this quality, we are able to re-weld cleats onsite if they experience any damage using special Volta welding rod. We promise that this service CAN NOT be matched by anyone in the country. The turnover on a cleated belt can be as fast as next day delivery.
• SPROCKETS: To back up our comprehensive range of belts ex stock, Brendma also stock all the matching sprockets and accessories. All Volta Superdrive head, tail and supporting pulleys as well as locking collars are all ex stock. Also, Volta has created Sprockets for the Dual Drive range that are 10 times more durable than the Intralox Series 800 sprockets. Despite the fact that the Volta Dual Drive range can engage on Intralox Series 800 sprockets, the teeth of the belt are so strong and robust that they are known to wear down the Intralox sprockets. As a result, Volta has come up with there own high quality sprocket GUARANTEED to last the life of the belt.
